Why did you start this business: There are three things that I love to do: photography, travel and work with people. I get to do all three through the wedding industry. Your background/education: My background in both visual arts and graphic design has supplied the aesthetic and technical expertise essential to today's world of professional photography, which demands artistic talent in addition to computer graphic skills. How long did it take you to get from idea to open doors? About five months to shoot my first wedding in California.
A marriage of talents
Photographers know that a great shot can present itself at any moment. The trick is to be prepared for such an opportunity. However, over the years, fine art photographers Ron and Kate Le Blanc of Camarillo know missing an occasional shot isn't the end of the world."We were in Oregon to visit our daughter," he says. "It was the first snow and it was absolutely gorgeous. We didn't bring any equipment with us because we weren't there for that. Kate said it was just one of those moments you enjoy with your heart and the brain."The couple have plenty of great photographs between them, and many of them are on display through May 20 at the Tulare Historical Museum. Visitors will view black-and-white photographs -- plus others with a burst of color, which they call their "Splash of Color" series.Examples of the series includes a photograph of a rose where only the bud is red, or a pink flamingo against a black-and-white background."There are just some things that have to be in color, and a rose does," he says.
The BIG day

"That is a huge date for us," says Jeff Werling, sales manager for Goeglein's Catering. "We have 10 weddings booked that day, and we have three weddings already booked for 6-7-8 (June 7, 2008) next year." "It is a popular date, and 7-7-7 is a lucky number. And it's an easy number for grooms to always remember." Mark Smith, 47, and Kim DeBoard, 45, will wed on 07-07-07. It will be his first marriage and her second.
